FRICKE has been using CAD software for many years to plan plants and present
results. Both, production and design possibilities, could be pushed to another
dimension with the introduction of the Solid Works 3D software.
The degree of complexity of our plants is constantly growing. So far,
visualisation of the plant requirements and later functionality was
accomplished by 2D design. However, to be able to optimally respond to customer
requirements in the future, we have upgraded our CAD system with a 3D module
for 3D design.
This required the 7 CAD workplaces to be equipped with the most powerful
computers currently available. The total investment for the new software and
hardware, training and adaptation to our ERP system BIS amounts to more than
100,000 EURO.
The conversion was smooth which was also due to our designers having
familiarised themselves excellently with the new system. This aspect was in
particular crucial for meeting all deadlines.
Effort and commitment proved worthwhile. The 3D software offers extensive
simulation tools that substantially simplify design work. Production drawings
for the production robots in our production and at sub-suppliers can be
directly derived from the CAD program (CAM).
Yet, it is not only us who benefit from the new software for plant planning and
implementation. At your premises, we have now have the tool for breathtaking
presentations. As early as in the planning phase, our new protect visualisation
system offers safety and control. When a picture says more than a thousand
words, what will a camera tour through the plant reveal?
The advantages at a glance:

optimum basis for project meetings

precise detail planning

high increase of efficiency and time saving
