Fricke on track for further growth

Global market leader for dosing and filling systems strengthens its leadership team

Minden, 25 January 2022 –Serving customers from various industries all over the world, including the coatings, paints, adhesives, perfumes, foods and pharmaceuticals sectors, Fricke Abfülltechnik GmbH & Co. KG develops and produces dosing and filling systems, together with the appropriate software solutions, thereby supplying the essential components for process-optimized production. Successful international growth over the past few years has led the family-owned company headquartered in Minden, Westphalia to optimize its organizational structure and strengthen its leadership team, with the appointment of Mario Markmann as Chief Technology Officer and member of the Management Board, Ina Schnelle as new Head of Marketing, and Christian Brunke as new Head of Purchasing.

Despite the Corona pandemic, which has severely impacted numerous industry sectors, Fricke has been able to expand its business further and increase sales by more than 15% over the past two years. To manage the rising number of orders, the ever more demanding customer projects, and the growing complexity of plant control and software, the company has now optimized its organizational structure. Important measures in doing so were further reinforcement of the Management Board, repositioning of marketing under a new leader, and improvement of the procurement process through the engagement of a new purchasing head.

To strengthen technological knowhow at management level, Mario Markmann has been appointed Chief Technology Officer, effective 1 January 2022. He joins Bernd Fricke, fifth-generation Managing Director of the family-run company, and Chief Financial Officer Lars George as a member of the Management Board. Qualified engineer Mario Markmann has been working for Fricke since 1990, i.e., for more than 30 years, most recently as Head of Software Development, Electrotechnology, IT, and Technical Sales and Support.

With proven expertise in marketing and communications, Ina Schnelle, who joined Fricke on 1 January this year, will reposition, plan and implement the marketing and communications strategy in her role as Head of Marketing. A qualified business economist and communications manager, she gained more than 20 years of international experience in marketing and sales in the chemical industry at Follmann.

In the newly created position Head of Purchasing, Christian Brunke is responsible for the central purchasing organization, strategic procurement, supplier management and purchasing control. A specialist in purchasing and logistics, he brings around 20 years of experience into the company, having most recently been employed as Purchasing Manager at HTT energy GmbH.

Engineering knowhow made in Germany

Fricke Abfülltechnik GmbH & Co. KG was founded in 1870 in Rehme (North Rhine-Westphalia) and began by producing decimal scales that mainly helped dealers to weigh agricultural products correctly. The product portfolio was gradually expanded, Fricke then developing bagging scales for coal and briquettes, and soon afterwards the first dosing and filling systems, which are still used in numerous industries. Today, the company offers fully and semi-automatic dosing and filling systems, together with the associated control software, for a variety of industries, including perfumes and aromas, coatings and paints, care und cleaning products, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, foods, chemicals, adhesives, and construction chemicals and auxiliaries. Family-owned since it was founded, Fricke is currently led by a fifth-generation Managing Director and employs a staff of about 110 in Minden-Meissen – 16 of whom work in support and software development.
