Challenges: Precise dosing as a guarantee for quality, consistency and production reliability
In perfume and flavour production, precision, consistency, and process reliability are critical. Solutions: Future-proof dosing systems with high system quality and spare parts security
Since installing its first FRICKE dosing system, EFF has continuously expanded its production with additional FRICKE systems. These solutions cover various weighing ranges, support both automated and manual processes, and enable precise dosing of standard formulations as well as innovative new creations. Batch sizes range from as little as 50 liters up to 600 liters. “The machines reliability, availability of parts along side FRICKE's high level of customer service means we can operate securely and guarantee our customers orders will arrive on time," emphasizes Spencer Kersey.
Implementation: Process optimisation through intelligent software and high-precision valve technology
EFF’s latest investment – the FRICKE Dosingstar – represents a milestone in the partnership. With six dosing modules, it processes around 700 different raw materials and performs up to 360 dosages per hour – without interrupting the process during tank loading and unloading. This minimizes downtime and maximizes throughput. Software-supported order processing allows flexible prioritization, while FRICKE’s valve technology ensures highly precise dosing at high flow rates and prevents cross-contamination. Heated and cooled products can also be handled with accuracy.
Looking ahead together: Collaborative innovation for secure, automated production processes
With the Dosingstar, EFF can significantly shorten production times and offer customers faster lead times. “Our latest investment in the Dosingstar has been a game changer for the company, our output for sampling to both internal and external clients has now reached 10X the previous capacity,” says Spencer Kersey. Thanks to ATEX compliance, minimal maintenance requirements, and a high degree of automation – including unattended night operation – EFF gains long-term planning security and a sustainable competitive edge in the international market. "With investments in automation and digitalization, we were able to significantly improve the efficiency and reliability of processes in the production of EFF," adds Harald von Lukowicz, Project Manager Software & IT at FRICKE.
