Challenges: Growth brings new requirements
The partnership began in 2016 with the installation of the first DFL dosing system. This compact and modular solution enabled the precise dosing of small quantities of raw materials and brought a significant increase in process efficiency. "The DFL system revolutionized our processes and enabled an impressive increase in efficiency," recalls Bianca Hinrichsen, Managing Director at Hertz & Selck. As the company continued to grow, so did the requirements for flexibility, automation, and process reliability.
Solutions: Maximum flexibility thanks to modern DUPLEX dosing system
Against this backdrop, Hertz & Selck decided to invest in a DUPLEX dosing system from FRICKE. The new system is equipped with two scales that handle weights from 30 to 600 kilograms and allows the flexible production of batches of varying sizes – from customized small quantities to large-scale industrial orders. By providing multiple mixing containers in parallel, downtime is reduced, and seamless production is ensured. The system is complemented by a modern raw material warehouse and optimized piping, ensuring consistent supply. “The DUPLEX system has greatly increased our flexibility and allows us to better meet the diverse requirements of our international customers,” emphasizes Christian Nowitzki, Operations Manager at Hertz & Selck.
Implementation: Modular system integration and comprehensive service
In addition to technical features such as automatic container feed, quick container changes, and flexible storage options, the system offers a wide range of expansion possibilities – such as the integration of a stirring station or powder dosing. FRICKE’s Batch Management System (BMS), a comprehensive Manufacturing Execution System (MES), also supports complete process control and makes a key contribution to improved efficiency. The partnership is based not only on technology but also on service: from planning and installation to maintenance, spare parts supply, and a reliable service hotline, FRICKE stands by its customers with comprehensive support.
Looking ahead together: Focus on flexibility and growth
Looking ahead, Hertz & Selck plans to further expand its cooperation with FRICKE. One project includes the integration of additional manual dosing stations, seamlessly connected to the BMS barcode system.
