FRICKE’s Multiplex System increases efficiency in Silesia’s flavor production

End-to-end automation from dosing to filling

Silesia has invested in the Multiplex system from FRICKE Abfülltechnik GmbH & Co. KG to meet increasing demands for quality, efficiency, and flexibility. In collaboration with NÜRMONT Installations GmbH & Co. KG, the complex relocation and installation of the highly automated overall system was successfully completed within ten weeks.

Challenges: Market and quality assurance tighten requirements

In the perfume and flavor industry, stricter quality assurance measures and changing market requirements are significantly increasing the complexity of production processes. Companies are required to make their operations more efficient in order to ensure product quality while simultaneously reducing production costs.

For Silesia, this meant further automating all production steps – from dosing to filling – ensuring complete batch traceability and maintaining flexibility for varying production volumes ranging from 1 kilogram to 4 tons.

Solutions: Maximum flexibility from 1 kg to 4 t and fully automated

The Multiplex system from FRICKE provides full automation of all production steps – from precise dosing and filling to the cleaning of mixing vessels. Continuous process monitoring and documentation ensure consistent product quality and complete batch traceability, a key aspect in perfume and flavor manufacturing. Thanks to its modular structure, the system can flexibly adapt to production requirements and manufacture small and large quantities ranging from 1 kilogram to 4 tons. In addition to its technical performance, the Multiplex system offers clear advantages in work organization: the high degree of automation minimizes susceptibility to errors and improves working conditions.

“Efficient production design for our customers is important to us,” emphasizes Bernd Fricke, managing partner of FRICKE Abfülltechnik GmbH & Co. KG. “This philosophy is reflected in every component of our systems.”

With 20 individual machines, a total weight of 120 tons, and more than 34 kilometers of cabling, the highly automated system sets new standards in efficiency and flexibility.

Implementation: Complex system safely relocated and smoothly installed

Following the successful Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) at FRICKE’s site in Minden, the Multiplex system was professionally dismantled, transported, and reassembled at the Neuss location. The relocation was carried out in cooperation with NÜRMONT, an experienced specialist in the installation and logistics of large-scale industrial systems. By outsourcing this process, FRICKE gained a clear time advantage and was able to focus simultaneously on its core competencies – the design and development of automated dosing and filling systems.

The project required detailed planning. In Minden, all system components were dismantled into transportable units and carefully labeled. With 1,000 different color codes, it was ensured that electrical installation at the new site could be carried out smoothly and without errors. The transport of the production line involved approximately 26 truckloads. In Neuss, a 90-ton crane was used to lift the system modules onto a 6-meter-high installation platform. Mechanical and electrical supervisors from both companies supported the project from planning through commissioning.

Sebastian Roth, Project Manager at FRICKE, emphasizes: “Industrial transformation requires strong partnerships to ensure efficiency and flexibility for the customer.” He further states: “Direct coordination between all project participants on site was the prerequisite for the efficient and error-free commissioning of the system. The precision and speed during dismantling and installation were particularly impressive.” Tobias Hahn, Sales Manager at NÜRMONT, and Andreas Gwiasdowski, Project Manager at NÜRMONT, also confirm the successful collaboration, describing the project as “a prime example of the successful cooperation between two strong partners.”

The project was successfully completed within the planned timeframe of ten weeks. For Silesia, the rapid and professional relocation of the Multiplex system enabled a swift production start at the Neuss site.

Looking ahead together: Collaboration that creates added value

Based on the positive experience, FRICKE and NÜRMONT plan to carry out further projects together in the future. The cooperative and efficient execution of the system installation has demonstrated that both companies benefit from their synergies and can provide optimal support to their customers.

The successful collaboration on this project lays the foundation for future partnerships and the continued development of both companies.
